Founder's Daily Briefing

Memories…

As you might have guessed if you've heard me speak, I was born and raised in England, so seeing Kate charging around the places I spent my formative years brings up a lot of memories.

Some of the happiest surround a wonderful family friend - a former vinyl floor salesman turned animated children's TV producer by the astonishing name of Graham Clutterbuck.

'Uncle' Graham was the funniest man I'd ever met and very generous to me and my family and we were thrilled when his small animation studio got the chance to create the original Paddington TV series.

Here's the end title from the original TV animated version of Paddington, produced by our beloved family friend.

As a child, I spent countless hours at the studio 'helping' director Barry Leith, who often had to reshoot anything so painstakingly animated while I was there!

It was such a big deal for me back then that I saved up all my pocket money to buy a stop-frame animation camera to experiment with my own kid-level productions. Happy days.

Paddington, famously, rarely travelled without his trusted suitcase with metal-reinforced corners, and while we'll never know, I can't help believing he'd be a big fan of Heathrow eCarry-On with a FREE Extreme charger and Toughcover for a limited time!

As I said - a lot of memories prompted by Kate's UK visit.

Here she is taking a moment earlier with 'young Mr Brown' himself at Paddington Station in London.

Later in London's famous Trafalgar Square - a small child approaches Kate with an envelope containing the next conundrum puzzle!

Trafalgar Square is itself a few minute walk from Westminster School where I spent much of my teens, another reason this part of Kate's trip holds a special place in my heart. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

If you've never been to London it's a blast.

PS: I really do think Paddington would love Heathrow. What do you think?

Kate's Conundrum #8

"Where Mall meets park, your journey will embark

Past pelicans and oaks, a lake, but never boats …

Selena’s far behind you, but she might share your view

If she were here in London and she found a place so blue."
